Vladimir Putin signed a decree granting additional powers to the Ministry of Economic Development. The Ministry of Economic Development is allowed, starting from October 1, 2021, to have its representatives in 52 foreign countries — a total of 100 people.
The tasks of the representatives will be related to the activities of intergovernmental commissions considering issues in the trade and investment spheres. The most important applied tasks:
▪attraction of foreign investment to Russian regions,
▪Promoting Russian SMEs to foreign markets,
▪explanation and defense of Russia’s position on the climate agenda.
“We hope that this very important decision of the President will allow to more actively protect the interests of Russian companies abroad and more actively attract investors to the country,” said the head of the department Reshetnikov
