Autonomy of modern cars

Now there are several levels of autonomy of cars – from 0 (a car that is generally unable to do anything on its own) to 5 (a fully automatic car that does not need human participation at all in any road conditions – for comparison, at level 4, no human participation is needed either, but only under normal ambient conditions)

It turns out that in 2020, only 24% of cars sold worldwide met level 0 autonomy! Exactly half of the cars are autonomous at level 1 (they are able to steer themselves OR brake to avoid collisions), and 26% are autonomous at level 2 (they are able to steer AND brake themselves at certain speeds). By the way, Tesla systems formally belong to class 2. Class 3 implies that in some situations (for example, in traffic jams), the driver becomes completely unnecessary – and such systems are already appearing on the top “Germans” and “Japanese”
