Complete elimination of nuclear weapons

Kazakhstan called on the countries of the world to develop a phased plan for the complete elimination of nuclear weapons by 2045, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi said.

“Proposals and agreements to achieve this goal could be reflected in the outcome documents of both the first conference of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and the Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT),” Tleuberdi said.< /blockquote>

Mr. Tleuberdi noted that Kazakhstan is aware of all the political and technical difficulties associated with the proposed tasks, but considers it necessary to «start practical work in this direction.»
