Converting a car into an electric car

Ford began selling electric motors to replace combustion engines in conventional cars, and for the sake of visual demonstration, the company made an electric version of the classic 1978 F-100 pickup truck.

The Eluminator e-crate is based on the Mustang Mach-E GT. It produces 281 horsepower and 433 Nm of torque.

The only example of an electric Ford F-100 that exists today was equipped with two motors on the front and rear axles, the total power of which in the car was 480 horsepower. The torque is 860 Nm. There is more space under the hood, which made it possible to place a box for things.

At the same time, the engineers have modernized the interior, equipping it with a modern vertical display with a diagonal of 15.5 inches. It was also taken from the Mustang Mach-E GT. The rest of the exterior was left largely untouched — except perhaps replaced with custom-made 19-inch Forgelin aluminum wheels.

The electric motor costs $ 3,900.

In the future, Ford plans to sell battery systems, controllers, inverters and other components to make it easier to convert an ICE car to an electric car.
