Corruption Perception Index

The international human rights organization Transparency International (TI) on January 25 published its annual report, which presents the level of public perception of corruption in the public sector in 180 countries.

In 2021, Transparency International experts considered Denmark, New Zealand and Finland to be the least corrupt in the perception of their population. They are followed by Singapore, Sweden and Norway. Next come Switzerland, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. After him — Germany, which moved from 9th to 10th place.

Russia ranked 136th in the 2021 Corruption Perceptions Index, tied with Mali, Liberia and Angola.

Turkmenistan ranked 169th among the most corrupt countries along with Congo and Burundi. In 150th place is Tajikistan, as well as Iran, Guatemala and Guinea. In 144th place — with Uganda and Cameroon — Kyrgyzstan. In 140th place — Uzbekistan, along with Myanmar, Mauritania and Pakistan. Azerbaijan is in 128th place.

And at the very bottom of the list are South Sudan (180th place with 11 points), Somalia — at 179th and Syria — at 178th place (13 points each).
