Europol launches Operation Oscar

Europol has launched Operation Oscar to search for Russian assets subject to EU sanctions due to the military operation in Ukraine, according to the website of the EU police agency.

On April 11, 2022, Europol, together with EU Member States, Eurojust and Frontex [the EU external border security agency], launched Operation Oscar to support EU Member State financial investigations against criminal assets owned by individuals and legal entities under sanctions,” the message says.

Europol will also assist in investigations into circumvention of EU economic sanctions. Support includes the exchange of data, including intelligence.
