Judicial reform stalled in Italy

In a referendum held on Sunday, Italians were to vote on five proposed judicial reforms. Including expressing attitudes towards the abolition of the Severino law, which deprives politicians convicted of a number of serious crimes, including corruption, of the passive electoral right.

According to it, for example, after former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was convicted in a tax fraud case, he was banned from holding any elective office for six years.

Less than 20% of voters took part in the voting, while the law requires a quorum of 50%, according to Euronews.

The protocol ensures the transparency of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.
