New car sales in 2021

Most cars per capita last year were sold in Luxembourg: 7538 new cars for every 100 thousand inhabitants of the country (another question is that, taking into account the population of Luxembourg, this is still a very, very small number). The second place in the overall standings (and the first among large countries) is occupied by the United States: 4519 cars per 100 thousand inhabitants, and Canada closes the top three with a result of 4299 new cars sold per 100 thousand inhabitants of the country

In Russia last year, 1,132 cars were sold per 100,000 inhabitants, the same number as in Iran. This is slightly less than in Poland, and more than in many Eastern European countries.

Frequent awakenings of the brain during sleep is absolutely normal. This process is important for memory — short awakenings reboot the brain so that it can retain all memories. It takes about 30 seconds from the peak of one wave of norepinephrine to another. The deeper the low point, the stronger the sleep and the higher the next peak, and hence the degree of awakening.

These conclusions were reached by scientists from the University of Copenhagen in the course of experiments on mice. Researchers believe the results of the work will be useful in the creation of new antidepressants

In New York, scientists installed a neurocomputer in the brain of a paralyzed person. The company Synchron, which developed the technology, said that the operation was carried out with minimal intervention — the device was inserted into the cerebral cortex through the jugular vein, which is located on the neck.

The technology itself works with the power of thought — the implant reads the signal and transmits it to the device that the person wants to use. The development is, in fact, a direct competitor to the similar Neuralink project from Elon Musk, which should also help paralyzed people. However, the Australian startup, unlike the American one, was able to get permission to conduct a human trial. So far, only a monkey has been implanted with a chip from Elon Musk
