On achieving carbon neutrality

Most developed countries today have legislatively approved programs to achieve carbon neutrality somewhere in the bright future — most often in 2050.

Finland is more optimistic: they are going to achieve this bright goal by 2035, in the region of 2040-2045 Sweden, Iceland, Austria and Germany are planning to achieve carbon neutrality. China, on the other hand, is postponing this target until 2060. Russia is also discussing achieving carbon neutrality by this date.

And there are also two countries in the world that have already achieved this goal, however, they are unlikely to be happy about this: Suriname and Bhutan — and the point here is not in the particularly «green» economy and energy of these countries, but in the low level of development combined with a large number of untouched nature
