On housing construction in January-May 2021

In the first five months of 2021, more than 28 million square meters of housing were commissioned in Russia, which is 28.4% more than in the same period last year.

The largest increase in relative numbers was the volume of housing commissioning in the Murmansk Region (2.9 times), Khabarovsk Territory (2.7 times), Altai, Tuva and Chechnya (2.5 times in all three regions). It is worth noting, however, that the volume of construction in these regions is not very large (not counting Chechnya). Of the regions where there is a lot of construction, St. Petersburg (2.2 times growth) and the Leningrad Region (2.1 times growth) are the leaders in growth.

In terms of the total volume of housing commissioned, the Moscow region retains the leadership, and the “silver” belongs to Moscow, but the growth rates in the metropolitan region are lower than the national average: in the region, commissioned by 22.8% more than a year ago, and in the capital – by only 12.1%

The most noticeable decrease in the volume of housing commissioned is in the Far East: -50.1% in the Amur Region, -44.6% in Yakutia, -43.8% in Sakhalin

The authorities refused to consider the procession held in Yekaterinburg as a religious procession. Vice-Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Sergei Bidonko, in an interview with Rise, noted that in the pre-coronavirus times, Tsar’s Days gathered tens of thousands of participants, now – no more than two thousand.

“The event was not agreed, but, nevertheless, people followed this path. This is a question for law enforcement, of course. The procession in the form in which it is traditionally held was not held here yesterday. Individual citizens in small groups have followed the path along which this business traditionally takes place. Well, we walked along the sidewalk. Officially, we do not think that we had a religious procession ”.

The vice-governor also commented on the appearance of the Minister of Public Security Alexander Kudryavtsev at the Church on the Blood, from where the procession began.

“He did not participate in the procession. If he was there, he probably came just to see how and what happened. “
