Personal data of Russians

According to InfoWatch, from January to September 2020, 96.5 million records of personal data and payment information were stolen in Russia. Personal data is expensive on the black market, and the buyer of such a database is at best a marketer, but at worst a scammer. And then there are about 400 relatively honest ways to take money away from citizens: applying for a microcredit, creating a one-day company with a criminal background; correspondence on your behalf with your friends and requests to lend, and of course dubious banking manipulations.

On March 1, the law on changing the rules for processing such data came into force. Now such information cannot be disseminated by default – citizens should be able to choose which specific data can be used publicly and which not. The monitoring system will identify resources that collect user data, and in case of abuse, influence the operators of personal data. I would like to believe that this will somehow change the current picture, when personal data in Russia is leaking almost everywhere

“The situation is absolutely transparent and easy to explain. The decision to meet the presidents on September 1, not August 31, is absolutely protocol and is explained, among other things, by the fact that this is the last day of evacuation procedures from Afghanistan, ”he said.
