Russia, Iran and Turkey without the dollar

The head of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnasser Hemmati, said that during a meeting with representatives of Russia and Turkey, he discussed the possibility of trading using local currencies as a substitute for the dollar, the Tehran Times reports.

It is noted that during the meeting, which was also attended by the head of the Iranian Ministry of Oil, Bijan Zangane, discussed such issues as the exchange of national currencies in order to exclude the dollar in order to reduce its influence “on trade and economy of the three countries”, as well as the development of trade and economic relations.

Hemmati also said that during the meeting it was decided to conduct further work in this direction at a meeting with the head of the Russian Central Bank in Moscow.
