Sources of electricity in European countries

Most often, the main source of electricity in Europe is gas, especially in the eastern part, in southern Europe and in the UK with Ireland

In a number of territories, nuclear energy dominates: France, Ukraine, Finland and a number of other countries.

In Scandinavia (except Denmark) and a number of Balkan countries, hydropower is the leader, and Germany (together with Poland and some other countries) produces the most electricity from the most «dirty» raw material — coal. In Denmark and Lithuania, the number one source of electricity is wind.

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have described the G-Net neural network, which predicts the course of a patient’s illness with various treatments. The new treatment technology was created in collaboration with IBM specialists.

By evaluating predictive ability and training G-Net, the team created two datasets based on false facts. Each of them contained approximately 1000 known trajectories of patient treatment. At a certain step, doctors changed the method of treatment, forcing the neural network to build about a hundred new predictive trajectories.

The experts noted that although G-Net works well with simulated data, the algorithm needs to be significantly improved before it can be applied to real patients.
