A group of scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has developed a technology for dry contactless cleaning of solar panels from dust and sand. Non-contact cleaning is the ideal solution, since contact wiping leaves scratches on the surface of the panels and reduces the throughput of the surface layer.
The idea of non-contact cleaning is that an electrode passes over the panel, giving the dust a charge. After that, a charge of the same polarity is applied to the surface layer of the panel several microns thick, and the dust is literally shaken off to the ground. Such a process may be automatic or remotely controlled. A similar system can be made without mechanical moving parts, if transparent conductive strings are pulled over the panels.
Today, up to 38 billion liters of the purest water is spent annually on wet cleaning of solar panels around the world. This volume would be enough to provide drinking water for at least 2 million people during the year. The cost of wet cleaning of panels, together with the cost of water treatment, is at least 10% of the cost of generating electricity in solar farms.

European banks are asking Russians living in Europe to confirm the legality of their stay in the country.
This is due to the ban imposed in the European Union on accepting deposits in the amount of more than 100 thousand euros from Russian individuals and legal entities.
An exception to this sanction are account holders who have citizenship or a valid residence permit in an EU Member State.
As Deutsche Bank explains to Idel.Realii, this is not about blocking or freezing the bank account itself, but about freezing amounts exceeding 100,000 euros. This means that Russians who have not confirmed the legality of their stay can continue to participate in payment transactions with an amount of up to 100 thousand euros on a current account, savings deposits, etc. Amounts exceeding this amount are blocked.
The sanction is withdrawn individually upon presentation to the bank of a residence permit or other suitable document. Russians are asked to contact their bank consultant.
