The most persistent snowfield has melted

The Sphinx is located at the top of the third largest mountain in Scotland — Breach. Over the past 300 years, it has melted for the eighth time, writes The Guardian. Moreover, six cases were recorded in the last 25 years: in 1996, 2003, 2006, 2017, 2018 and this year.

According to a study carried out for the Kerngorms National Park, where the mountain is located, snow cover in the massif began to decrease since the early 1980s. Scientists believe that by 2080, snow will not lie in some of Brerich’s usual places today.

Expert and scientist Ian Cameron, who studies snow cover in Scotland, said climate change was a significant factor in the increasingly frequent melting of the snowfield. He considers it symbolic that Britain’s most persistent snowfield melted ahead of the Glasgow climate summit.

Wastewater from Samsung’s chip production will go to Hyundai steel production. Since August last year, Samsung, Hyundai Steel and Steel Ceramic have been working together on new technology to recycle wastewater from factories.

This is a compulsory measure, as the global semiconductor shortage has not only negatively affected the performance of many industries, but also threatened the environment. However, how far the factories are from each other, and how the delivery will be carried out, is still unknown. But a system capable of performing the relevant tasks already received final approval from the Korean Ministry of the Environment back in August this year.
