Kommersant FM: Journalists from several publications asked the president to stop persecuting their colleagues and change the law on “foreign agents”. Did the Kremlin see this appeal and will there be any reaction?

Dmitry Peskov: Indeed, we saw this appeal. There is indeed quite an emotional appeal. We disagree with the phrase “harassment”. It is about the application of the provisions of the law known. It contains requirements, and we also believe that this is not entirely correct rhetoric. But in essence this appeal, yes, it deserves attention.

We believe that with the understanding that this law should be in our country, with the understanding that in one way or another there is interference in our internal affairs from the outside, almost all countries of the world face this, and attempts to interfere in our internal political processes are taking place. from abroad – that’s why NGOs, journalists and mass media are often used for these purposes. Therefore, as such, this law must be and it will be.

Another thing is in raising the question that the representatives of the community, the shop seem to be imperfect, some provisions of this law, then this is exactly what should be constructively discussed, first of all, within the shop itself, and then with our legislators and representatives of the executive authorities.
