Wage growth by Russian regions

RIA Rating conducted a study in the field of wage growth in Russian regions. According to the analysts’ conclusions, the median salary in Russia will reach 100,000 rubles in about 12 years, while in 30 regions this will take more than 15 years.

The study assessed the achievement of a median salary of 100 thousand rubles in Russia and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation at purchasing power parity (taking into account the difference in prices in the regions), with the condition that nominal wage growth rates remain at the average value over the past 5 years.

Three regions will achieve the fastest rate of 100 thousand rubles: the Yamalo-Nanets Autonomous Okrug — less than 6 years, Chukotka and Magadan — about 6.3 years.

The longest salary increase will have to wait in the Kaliningrad region (19 years), the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (19.7 years) and the Chechen Republic (22.5 years).

On average, salaries in Russia over the past five years have grown by 9% annually. According to RIA Rating experts, not a single region of Russia in the first half of 2022 can boast that a significant number of people have a net salary of more than 100 thousand rubles a month.

Japanese scientists have developed Choetsu spray coating, which gives the paper the useful properties of plastic — water resistance, strength and flexibility. Fluid-treated paper could be a sustainable replacement for some container plastics — it’s completely biodegradable. Over time, substances from the coating will decompose into carbon, water and silicon — they are not dangerous to the environment. In the future, scientists want to adapt Choetsu to other materials such as glass, ceramics and plastics. The spray will protect them from dirt and make them more durable.

17-year-old student from the US state of Virginia, Benjamin Choi, has developed a robotic arm with artificial intelligence, controlled by the power of thought.

The teenager printed the details of the prosthesis on a 3D printer and connected them using bolts and rubber bands. It took about 30 hours to produce the components, he said.

A special helmet picks up brain waves and feeds them into an algorithm that controls the mechanized arm. The signal recognition accuracy is 95%, the developer claims.

In 2021, Choi received funding from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and continued the project in collaboration with professional engineers.

The Greece-Bulgaria gas pipeline was connected to the Bulgarian transport system. Now the interconnector is connected to the Bulgaztransgaz network, reports mediapool.bg. This happened after testing at the gas measuring station in Stara Zagora. The gas pipeline is scheduled to start operating in July.

Thanks to the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector (IGB), Bulgarians will be able to receive gas from Azerbaijan in full. A 25-year contract for the supply of fuel from the Caspian Sea was signed back in 2019, but now it is only a quarter of its strength due to the lack of a direct gas transmission connection with Greece.

First, the tie-in will provide the country with 1 billion cubic meters of gas, and after reaching the design capacity — 3 billion, which is equal to Bulgaria’s annual demand for this type of fuel.
