World attitudes towards globalization

In general, the population around the world is rather restrained about globalization, with the exception of two points: everyone wants to expand trade and investment from international companies: on average, around the world, these two ideas have 75% and 63% of supporters, respectively.

In Russia, the situation is similar: 86% are in favor of expanding trade (second in the world, lagging behind the leader – Peru – by only 1 percentage point), 51% support foreign investment

But at the same time, in general, in most countries, globalization is not considered to be something good: only 48% on average for the countries included in the survey have a positive attitude towards it (in Russia – 34%). Moreover, in some countries it acts as such a good scapegoat: 48% of the French, for example, believe that it is globalization that prevents their country from pursuing an effective economic policy, and 41% – that it also prevents democracy from working!
