World economy in 2022

The global economy will surpass the $ 100 trillion mark for the first time in 2022, two years earlier than previously predicted, according to the Center for Economic and Business Research (CEBR).

Global GDP will grow thanks to the ongoing recovery from the pandemic, although if inflation persists it will be difficult for policymakers to avoid the economy returning to recession, according to the London think tank.

The forecast is in line with estimates from the International Monetary Fund, which also predicts that global GDP, measured in dollars and current prices, will surpass $ 100 trillion in 2022.

“The big question for the 2020s is how the global economy will cope with inflation,” said Douglas McWilliams, CEBR vice chairman, writes Bloomberg.
